Cookie Policy
In short: littlehoovesrescue.com sets no cookies. It stores one small technical setting in your browser, and only after you use the footer on a phone. This policy explains what that means and how to remove it.
1. Summary
- No cookies are set by this website.
- No analytics, advertising or social media trackers are used.
- Fonts and images are served from our own website, so no third-party services are contacted when you visit.
- One local storage entry,
lh-footer-accordion, may be saved on phone-sized screens to remember how you left the footer.
2. Cookies and local storage explained
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. They are sent back to the website with each request and are often used to recognise visitors, keep them logged in or track them across sites.
Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a page keep a small piece of information on your device. Unlike a cookie, it is not sent to the website’s server with each request; it stays in your browser until it is deleted.
The rules on storing information on your device come from the EU ePrivacy Directive, which applies in Norway through the Electronic Communications Act (ekomloven). They cover both cookies and local storage.
3. Categories and what we use
- Strictly necessary and functional storage makes a feature you have asked for work. We use one entry of this kind, described below.
- Preference storage remembers choices such as language or region. We use none.
- Analytics measures how visitors use a website. We use none.
- Marketing and tracking follows visitors across websites for advertising. We use none.
4. What this website stores
| Name | Type | Purpose | When it is set | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
lh-footer-accordion |
Local storage (not a cookie), first party | Remembers which footer sections you opened or closed, so the footer looks the same on your next visit | Only on phone-sized screens, and only after you open or close a footer section yourself | No expiry date; it stays until you clear this website’s data in your browser |
The entry contains only the names of the footer sections and whether each is open, for example
{"footer-explore":true}. It holds no personal data, is never sent to our server and cannot be
used to identify or track you.
6. Third parties
The website does not embed maps, videos, social media widgets, chat tools or externally hosted fonts, so no third party can set cookies through our pages. Links to other websites, such as Hjelpelinjen, take you to sites with their own cookie policies, which we do not control.
7. How to manage or delete stored data
You can remove the local storage entry at any time by deleting this website’s data in your browser. Menu names vary between versions, but the steps are usually:
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Site settings › View permissions and data stored across sites, then search for littlehoovesrescue.com and delete its data.
- Safari on Mac: Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data, then select littlehoovesrescue.com and choose Remove. On iPhone and iPad: Settings › Apps › Safari › Advanced › Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data › Manage Data, then remove littlehoovesrescue.com.
- Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions › Manage and delete cookies and site data › See all cookies and site data, then delete the entry for littlehoovesrescue.com.
Private or incognito windows delete stored data when they are closed. Blocking storage does not stop the website from working; the footer will simply start collapsed on each visit.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics or any other storage that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first through a cookie banner, and we will update this policy and its effective date before the change goes live.
